Fugitive Blue
My Great Blue Heron installation, Fugitive Blue, presents an ethereal, life-sized heron in flight. Based on observation, it relies on simple sculptural means of line, plane, color, and space to share the wonder of nature—now threatened by our worsening climate disaster. The sculpture was initially designed to soar underneath an airy cupola of the Starr Library in Rhinebeck,, NY. It will continue to fly through other public spaces on its journey toward wisdom and good fortune.
