Becoming a Bird Workshops
I offer public workshops on the theme of human-bird connections and their potential for personal and global awareness. These settings allow for study of real and mythical birds, cross-cultural images, and creative exploration using reeds, wire mesh, collected papers, and found objects. Workshops have taken place in Taiwan at the Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts, Guandu Nature Park, Taipei National University of the Arts, National Museum of Marine Science & Technology; and in the U.S. at such venues as the Hammond Museum & Japanese Stroll Garden in North Salem, NY, the Starr Library in Rhinebeck, NY, and the Langlais Art Preserve in Cushing, ME. Through these workshops, I hope to encourage people of all ages to use observation, empathy, curiosity, and imagination to connect with the avian world and our shared environment.
